Defy Diagnostics

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of vehicles and equipment do your diagnostic tools support?

Our diagnostic kits cover heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, off-highway equipment, marine engines, and Powersports vehicles. You get multi-brand coverage in one tool — all powered by TEXA’s IDC6 software, pre-configured and ready to use out of the box.

2. Is your diagnostic software subscription-based?

No subscription surprises here. Our kits include a one-year IDC6 software license with purchase. After that, you can renew annually to keep getting updates and new vehicle coverage.

3. Do I need experience or training to use your diagnostic kit?

Nope. Our kits are built to be plug-and-play — preloaded, configured, and backed by U.S.-based support. If your techs can turn a wrench, they can run diagnostics with our tools. No steep learning curve, no extra software to install.

4. How does your tool compare to OEM diagnostic software?

Defy Diagnostics uses TEXA hardware and IDC6 software, the same platform many OEMs trust. But unlike dealer tools, our kits give you multi-brand capability, faster setup, and no expensive service subscriptions. It’s dealer-level power without the dealer-level cost.

5. What makes and models are supported by your diagnostic software?

Our kits are powered by TEXA’s IDC6 software, which offers multi-brand diagnostic coverage across a wide range of industries and equipment types. Whether you’re servicing commercial trucks, passenger cars, construction equipment, marine engines, or motorcycles — we’ve got you covered.

Popular coverage includes:

  • Commercial trucks: Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, International, Hino, Isuzu
  • Diesel engines: Cummins, CAT, Detroit Diesel, PACCAR, Mercedes-Benz, Navistar
  • Construction & Off-Highway: John Deere, Bobcat, CASE, Kubota, Komatsu, New Holland
  • Passenger vehicles: Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Dodge/RAM, BMW, Mercedes-Benz
  • Marine: Mercury Marine, Volvo Penta, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda Marine
  • Motorcycles & Powersports: Harley-Davidson, Polaris, BRP (Can-Am/Sea-Doo), Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ducati

This isn’t just code reading — you get access to dealer-level functionality like regens, active tests, system resets, injector coding, and calibrations across most supported brands.

6. Does this work on newer trucks like 2023 Freightliner Cascadia or 2024 International LT?

Yes. Our diagnostic kits offer up-to-date support for late-model commercial vehicles, including:

  • 2023–2024 Freightliner Cascadia (DD15, DD13)
  • 2024 International LT Series
  • Newer Kenworth and Peterbilt models with MX-13 and Cummins engines

And with regular IDC6 updates (included for the first year), you stay covered as new models hit the road.

7. What happens after my first year of IDC6 software updates?

Your tool keeps working — nothing shuts down. But to access new vehicle coverage, updated parameters, and software improvements, you’ll want to renew your IDC6 license annually. It’s simple, affordable, and keeps you ahead of the curve.

8. Can this tool really reduce downtime and cut service costs?

Absolutely. Our customers report significant savings within weeks. By diagnosing and fixing issues in-house, you avoid dealer delays, towing costs, and unnecessary rentals. That means more uptime and fewer service headaches.

9. How fast will I get my diagnostic kit?

Once your order is in, we prep your kit (custom-configured) and ship it fast — usually within a few business days. You’ll receive a complete, ready-to-run system. No setup stress, no waiting for downloads.

10. What if I need help using the tool?

Call us. Our U.S.-based diagnostic techs are standing by to walk you through it — whether it’s your first time running a regen or you’re deep into troubleshooting a complex aftertreatment issue.

11. Can I customize my diagnostic kit?

Yes. We offer multiple kit configurations based on your fleet or shop type — from mobile truck diagnostics to off-highway and marine kits. Need help picking the right one? We’ll walk you through it.

12. Do you offer a demo or free trial?

We don’t offer trials, but we do offer live demos and product walkthroughs. That way, you can see exactly how the system works — no guesswork, no fluff.

13. What is the Konfort A/C service machine and who is it for?

The TEXA Konfort series is a premium line of A/C recharge and diagnostic machines for R1234yf and R134a systems. It’s designed for automotive repair shops, collision centers, and fleets looking to offer precision A/C servicing with OE-level quality. Models like the Konfort 750R, 760R, and 780R offer automatic functions, hybrid compatibility, and data reporting features.

14. What vehicles are compatible with the Konfort 760R or 780R?

The Konfort 760R and 780R handle both R134a and R1234yf refrigerants and are compatible with most passenger vehicles, light-duty trucks, hybrids, and EVs. They’re ideal for busy shops working across multiple makes and models — including Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and FCA platforms.

15. What is RCCS 3 and why is it important for ADAS calibrations?

RCCS 3 is TEXA’s advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) calibration solution for radar, lidar, and camera-based safety systems. It’s essential for post-collision repair shops, windshield replacement businesses, and alignment centers looking to perform precise static and dynamic calibrations in-house.

16. What vehicles can be calibrated using RCCS 3?

The RCCS 3 system supports static and dynamic calibrations for a wide range of ADAS-equipped vehicles, including popular makes like Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Ford, VW, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. It integrates with TEXA’s IDC6 software to guide you through each vehicle-specific procedure.

17. Do I need a large space or special tools to use the RCCS 3?

RCCS 3 is designed for flexibility. While a level surface and adequate space are required, the system features laser-guided alignment, digital panel recognition, and options that make it ideal for both small shops and larger collision centers. See our facility requirements page for more info
